Broken Wings 2
Did he wow her? Yes he did. They went on lunch dates and dinner, went to see movies, went to the beach, spoke all night, the whole shebang! When he was with her, he put on ‘The full Eric charm’ as he called it. She loved him, ah she did. All other toasters just disappeared into the background, he completed her. It felt like he saw right through her. They talked about every and anything. She was happy. She even neglected that old wives tale that states that your boyfriend/husband should be more in love with you. At this point, she didn’t know who loved who more. She was that happy.
They had been seeing each other for 6 months when he asked to meet her parents. And boy was she excited! She had been trying to get him to do just that without being pushy and fate finally pushed it into her laps. They were at his house that day, she had just finished cooking and was tidying up the kitchen. She just smiled and kept on doing the dishes.
‘I really want to meet them Bugo. I’m really serious about you’.
With that, he turned her around.
‘I love you babe, I really do. Something about you calls to me on a deeper level. What more can I pray to get from God in a wife? You have it all. You’re beautiful, intelligent, you cook a mean Egusi soup’.
By now, her face was so red, it could have lit up a match stick. He went down on his knees and brought out a ring from his pocket.
‘Marry me Bugo, marry me. I’ll never make you cry, if you cry at all, they’ll be tears of joy. Be the mother of my 5 girls…’
At this she burst out laughing. She said yes, she couldn’t wait to spend the rest of her life with him.
They went to see her parents the next day. Still basking in the glow of just being proposed to, she was all smiles, grinning from ear to ear. He sat in the living room while she went to call her parents. Excitedly, they hurried on to the living room to finally meet with the man who had stolen their daughter’s heart.
Her mother came out first, she was so excited to finally meet her daughter’s fiancĂ©. She just kept going on and on about all of Bugo’s antics as a child. It was a different ball game when her father came out. The young man his daughter brought home wiped the smile of his face.
‘Eric Mustapha!’ He stuttered. This was just before he fainted.

Broken Wings
Sunlight and the sounds of birds chirping ushered in her day. A beautiful Saturday morning. As Bugo turned to kiss him good morning, she realised he wasn't there. His side of the bed was still made up. It was obvious he didn't come home last night. "God, when will all these stop?," she muttered. Her husband Eric had put her through many nights of tears and fear, wondering what time he'lld come home. Especially on Fridays. She understood it was the last working day of the week and probably needed to unwind, but why he couldn't do this with her was beyond her imagination. Heaviness that she had uneasily become accustomed to, came upon her.
As she thought of all these, she got up to brush her teeth and have her bath. As she stared into the mirror to make up, she didn't like what she saw, she had become a shadow of herself.
"A whole me," she sighed.
She dressed up and went to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee. As she sat down to wait for the water to boil, she thought back to the day she first met him.
"Hey Bugo! Be careful, that car almost hit you!," her friend Sandra shouted.
They had just stopped at a restaurant to eat, with just 30 minutes of their one hour break to hurry back to their respective offices.
"Imagine o, now the driver has splashed water over me,' she said angrily.
She saw that the man parked about 4 cars ahead of them, so she matched there to give him a piece of her mind. On getting there, as she opened her mouth to speak, she found herself staring into the most handsome face she had ever seen. Brown eyes, white teeth, beautiful skin, the full works. He was just beautiful. She managed to get herself together and managed a weak "Don't you know you could have hit me?"
"Yes i do and i'm sorry," he responded, "but i don't regret it," he said, flashing that dimpled smile that she came to love. By this time, her anger came back full force. "You don't what?" she shouted.
"Easy, easy. I only meant that if that hadn't happened, i won't have met my future wife," he said with a smile on his face.
Just then Sandra started laughing, enjoying the scene in front of her.
"My name is Sandra and her name is Bugo, we've been best friends since secondary school. What's your name?,"
"Eric," he said, looking at Bugo who was still seething in anger.
"Nice to meet you Eric," she smiled. "Now, continue what you were saying about Bugo being your future wife."
He smiled and said "Why don't we all just go in for drinks, so i can apologise to Bugo," he said with his eyes on her.
"No!" Bugo said, "Why don't you apologise and be on your way, you've been quite rude."
"Okay, i accept and i feel bad, let me make it up to you," he said looking at Sandra for back up.
"Yes, Bugo, let him make it up to us," she said with a seriousness she didn't mean. By now, all 2 pairs of eyes were staring at her, waiting for her to agree. Now exasperated, she said okay.
This marked the beginning of another phase, Life as she knew it was officially over.
Update!
The Part 2 to this story is on my other blog myfearlesslove.wordpress.com

Bye Bye Sumy
Hey!
I had a lovely day. Hope you did too :) Today, I was meant to go back to Kharkov, but for a series of events.
1. There was no space on the bus for 5 people. This could have been prevented if we had booked early.
Enter
Kolade and Ik. Both medical doctors. I'm sure they connived with the bus company to make sure there wasn't space. They didn't want us to leave anyway.
So back to my point, if they had booked early, we'lld be in Kharkov now. It's all their fault.
2. Mimi and i had to run (okay we actually took a cab) to vokzal to get train tickets. On getting there, they said the next train was for 4am. For how much? 120 uah! Too expensive! Why should it be 120 Uah and the next bus by 7am is 18uah? Seriously guys, which one will you go for? A whole 102 Uah difference. Na wa o! You can guess which one we bought. The thing is we have church camp to attend and the bus takes off by 11am, the exact time we get into Kharkov. Okay now, let's see how that goes.
To end this post, there's nothing this Euro 2012 won't cause o! Prices have been skyrocketing anyhow. Like 200% more than usual. Hian! Let the games do and finish, so everything will be back to normal. So, let me go and catch a few winks before the journey back.
Love, happiness and friendship

Today Today!
Whew! I'm bone tired. I left the city where i stay, Kharkov to another one yesterday. Just for a few days though. I desperately need this break. The trip to Sumy was 3 hours on the dot. I had a very uncomfortable bus ride. This heat can kill, so you can imagine how hot it was. You would think that the bus would have an Air conditioner.
I've spent a day here already and i'm loving every minute. I desperately needed this break. There's so much going on with me right now and i just need to clear my head. I got up by 10am and just delighted in the fact that i didn't have anything to do. As today was Dee's birthday, we had to do some food shopping, so we packed ourselves to the city centre. First stop was the ATM machine, the money refused to reflect in the account, so we had to wait for it to. After which we went to Sumy's joy and pride, the new shopping mall that just opened. Can't even remember the name. After grocery shopping, i called K to call a cab for us. While waiting for the cab, the others used the opportunity to take pictures. Minus me, as i'm not much of a picture person. After that, we went inside to wait so that the sun wouldn't bless us with compulsory tans. Unknown to us, the network inside was bad, so K couldn't get through to us to tell us the cab was waiting. After waiting for like 30 minutes and the cab didn't show, the 2nd Dee had to go out to call Kolade. Fast-forward 15 minutes later, we were home and the cab driver charged us 27 Gryvnias for wasting time, 10 more than we were meant to pay. I just smiled and paid without arguing. Had it been we were in Kharkov, reverse would have been the case. Taxis in this city are so cheap. The cheapest cab you will get in Kharkov is like 25 gryvens and trust me the distance is short, while here that same 25 will be regarded as expensive. All in all, it was a good day. I'm knackered now and it's way past my bedtime. Goodnight! Love, happiness and friendship, Miss Mashinka Tseluyu
Alles Gute zum Geburtstag
Okay, this is an unusual post. Really, really unusual. She will be shocked when she sees this. I'm only doing this for posterity's sake. Not because i want to or anything. Shrugs!
Anyway, here it goes. Happy birthday to Miss Dee. 4 and a half years and counting, shet!... 4 years? ...lol... Wonder how i survived. I'm indeed a supergirl :) I digress, but seriously 4 years? Interesting! 4 years of craziness, fun, scandals, escapades yawas and the unmentionables. God has been faithful.
Miss Dramatic, attention seeker and all the attributes you are, stay the way you are and don't change for anything and anyone. Live and enjoy your life in awe of the one who made you. Be rest assured that all of God's plans for your life have come to pass. From now on, you'll only be acting the scripts of your beautiful life.
Piece of advice: Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. - Unknown Disclaimer:
I'm writing this under the influence, probably not in my right senses, as this my stand against me. So Debola, you'll never know. Maybe, just maybe someone hacked into my account and wrote this.
Happy Birthday Adebola Olajumoke Sorungbe!!!

Waiting for Mr. Right
I saw a picture on facebook some time ago, and since i couldn't get the exact one, the above picture is the closest i could get. Similar wordings. I read the comments beneath and most of what i saw shocked me to the core. I doubt it would shock you. People were of the opinion that if you're still single and waiting for Mr. Right, you'll grow old doing that, as the picture insinuates.
I do not believe in making unrealistic expectations of what a prospective husband should look or be like, but i believe that there is someone out there for each person. You could say everyone has a Mr./Miss Right. I think the problem is how this concept has been defined over the years. I would say that i've found my Mr. Right when i meet someone who is capable of loving and accepting me for who and what i am, a man who believes in me and is strong enough to recognise his and my flaws, a man who forgives his and my past and is strong enough to forge a future of marital bliss with challenges that will be overcome.
So you see, waiting for the right person isn't so bad afterall, it's not unrealistic. I think because we are scared of being left on the shelf, we settle for every Tom, Dick and Harry that comes our way. Please, please let's wait. Let's prepare ourselves.
To the ladies
Lets prepare ourselves inside and outside. Let's make sure we are ready physically, spiritually and socially. Be ready Spirit, soul and body. Become God's best while you wait. You'll never have this much alone time again.
“A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her.”
― Maya Angelou
To the gentlemen
You'll never be on thaT 10/10 scale you want to be on before marriage, so quit trying. Just get the basics and trust God to handle the rest. Every woman wants a strong man of God, who is self dependent and confident in himself. And please, when you find us, don't delay so much in asking :)
I know this is a very wide topic, all i really want to communicate here is that Mr. Right isn't the perfect person he's made out to be, rather the things he'll be for you. So let's change our mindset, you won't grow old waiting for your God ordained. Though he may tarry, he will surely come!
Next time, i'll tell you about what i'm facing right now.
Clue: Mummy, Aunties, Concerned Mummy's friends... I'm sure you guessed right! :)

Writer's block
I officially welcome myself back to the world of blogging. Do i hear bells ringing? Yay me! I have suffered and i'm still suffering a bad case of writer's block. I simply do not know how to write anymore. As a wise man once said, 'writing improves with writing', so that's what i'll do. Write, write and write till i drop.
My absence is not for lack of anything to say, like i said i don't know how to write again. Lest i become guilty of needless repetitions, let me just say i'm glad to be back. And you're in for a ride. Woot, woot!!!
Little advice for you,
“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”

Church Without Walls... As understood by me
I'm a rebel and i know it. I'm rebelling against culture and tradition. Don't you just get tired of doing things monotonously? Especially in our service to God and relationship with Him. Okay, okay!!! I just had to say that, I'll dwell more on that in my next blog. I just had that itch... Okay, enough of that.

I'm a big believer in the "Church without walls" concept or theory, which ever word you're most comfortable with. These 3 words are pregnant with meaning, but I'll try my best to explain.
1+1=2. What is a church? A church is me, a church is you. We are the church. I'll like to categorically say here, that a church is not a building. The word translated "church" in the English Bible is EKKLESIA. Its the Greek word 'Kaleo', which means to call and the prefix 'ek', which means out. So you see, the word means "the called out ones". That is, you and I.

As a result of this gross misinterpretation of the church, the mind set of people today, believers and unbelievers alike, have been tuned to seeing it as a building. We all know that a building has 4 major walls designed to hold it. Walls here are synonymous with boundaries, limitations etc. I must stress on the fact that it is not God's plan for believers to be limited within it. The Holy Spirit needs no office! Our relationship and walk with God shouldn't be limited to church meetings (not that its not vital). Its a daily thing which should be nurtured just as we nurture our human relationships. One of the devices of the devil today is to trick believers into believing that it all starts and ends on a Sunday, its much more than that. I'll like you to know that its possible to be in church 7 days of the week and still not be making an impact. The truth is that you can be busy playing church, that you forget what really matters, your relationship with God. You may be a chorister, an intercessor, a sanctuary cleaner, whatever it is you do in the house of God, that your Spiritual life suffers for it.
Look people, its high time we stop playing church. If you must know, the church has left the building. its a wonder why churches lose members. We are yet to break free of tradition. Thinking that the church is a building has really affected things. We ARE the Church. The Church is NOT a building. We have left the building and are hitting the streets to live our lives in complete abandon to the will of God, for his Glory and for the expansion of his Kingdom. I've met a lot of people who say that they will never step into a church. Thats fine. If they won't come to the church, then we the church should go to them. There are so many ways. Lets think outside the box. Rehabilitation centers, food courts, concerts etc. God has given us the means at our disposal. We can do these things.
The bible says in 2 Corinthians 3:17 that Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty. (KJV) In the New Testament we see the church fellow-shipping together in homes and upper rooms and just places outside and in. We see the leaders going to the synagogue to evangelize the people there. "How do they worship the building? They feed it, sacrifice to it, decorate it, make it nice and comfy for themselves, work on it,, finance it, name it, identify themselves with it, take pride in it, and last of all, brainwash everyone into looking at a building and saying "THERE's a church". Rory Moore. Take note of the 'for themselves'. The house of God is not a trophy and shouldn't be looked upon as such.
Now, am I saying that we should leave our prospective churches? An emphatic NO. I'm just encouraging us not to lose focus of what's really important. Mark 16:15 Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (KJV). That my friends, is the Great Commission. Its not enough to wear our fancy clothes and sit down in church, we should go out there, taking the church out. And you may ask, 'I'm not a pastor, how do I do it?' You do not have to be a pastor to evangelize, to do exploits. You can simply be you. You don't need any title in front of your name to work for God. He doesn't need any of that, simply come, just as you are. We can be apostles in the market place, that is, world changers and agents of transformation in whatever area God has called you into and wherever you find yourself, be it in the banking, entertainment, sport and various other industries.
In conclusion, God isn't satisfied with us just attending church services. He wants us to spread our tentacles all over the world, this move is termed "Church without walls". Its a very broad topic. I hope I have been able to explain a little.
God bless you!

Simply Me
I feel down at the moment. And I feel bad for feeling down. I struggle to remind myself that I'm only human. Yes, I know His grace is sufficient for me, but how do I stop myself from sinking deeper?
Okay, I took a break from writing this. And in that break, someone just lifted my spirits. You know how you're most comfortable with old friends? Well yes, I just had the opportunity of being myself. Just Mary. Period!!! Not Sister Mary, Worship leader Mary, Fellowship leader Mary, Big sister Mary, Daughter Mary, Student Mary, the endless Mary's. Feels refreshing.
By the way, I love all the Mary's that I am and I thank God, I just itch to be the young Junior Secondary School Mary sometimes. The one who lived in a less complicated world. Hmm... Time they say, waits for no man. I guess time has caught up with me and its time for me to run, run to keep up with time.
What can I say? Life is good. Some don't have half of what I do. And I don't mean material things. Love, memories, family etc. Infact, I'm going to say a quick prayer.
Lord, I thank you for having me in mind to create
I wonder where I'lld be if not for your grace
Thank you for life, love and family
Thank you for simply being you
I don't and will never regret the day I said Yes to you
Your stability is amazing
I could go on and on and still that won't be enough to thank you
So all I'm going to say is
I LOVE YOU
Case closed!!!

Happy New Year
I think I should wish you all a very Happy New Year first. Its the second day of the month and God has been faithful. In the last week or more, typically, almost everyone has said something about the new year, either to someone or on facebook, twitter and on their bbms. Well, I haven't.
Here's me thinking, 'December rush' Everyone trying to get right with God. By the way, church was filled to the brim during the cross over service. Filled with people who normally don't come to church. As a fellow human being, I understand the need to be in church as the new year enters. They say, 'Omo mehn as 12 go nak, I gats be in church, you know, to thank God for the year'. Good, a very religious statement. It looks good on the surface. In my opinion, God is just shaking His head and saying, 'Let me just accept this thanks'. As I was saying, these people left at quarter past 12, when service hadn't ended. Seriously!!! And God is supposed to honor that. (I'm not condemning them, what's funny is that the next time you'll see them in church is the next 31st of December. Well, I should just end this matter on this note, God is not mocked.
Forgive my diversion. I'm continuing from where everyone was talking about the new year. I wanted to say/write something too, but I wanted to mean it. I saw things people wanted to do, habits to drop, promises to God etc. As of today, I don't have any new year resolutions, this doesn't mean I don't have plans for the year or things I want to change, but I'll rather not tag it now, so I don't break them. The truth is 95 percent of people won't keep them. So I'm taking it month by month. (This may not apply to you, you just might be in the 5 percent minority).
Of all the statuses I read on facebook, 2 I loved. And I'll share.
- 'No speeches, no essays. 2011, let's just do it. The year of shut up and do'.
Lol... I absolutely loved it, its self explanatory. The second,
-' Beloved what 2010 did not do 4 u 2011 will neither do. D question is wot r u willing 2 do 4 urself? U av made resolutions after resolutions & by March u r burnt out! Ask God wot His resolutions 4 u is? Dis will b the key to ur success. Don't live other people's visions, walk in other people's paths, work wit other people's instructions not specifically meant 4 u. God's eternity is the answer to our problem with time.'
Simple!!! This is why I don't do resolutions, I burn out by March. I just try to take it a day at a time, praying and asking God to reveal His plans for me. Would you rather live out your resolutions or God's resolutions for you. Think about it.
I know you must have been clogged with themes for the year and all etc. 'My year of divine favor', 'My year of increase' etc. I respect that. What I'll say on this is that I pray that this new year, I will and people will not just know, but understand who Christ really is, and develop a relationship with him. I pray also for grace to love God more, not for what he has done, what he'll do or what I want, just for who He is. Simple!!! Most of all, to base all I feel for God, all I do this year on the word of God. It never fails. When your relationship with God is on point, it will be your year of everything. Favour, substance, grace, everything!
So so much to say, but I'll be back.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Nigerians are NOT terrorists!!!

It is with great sadness that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has dragged Nigeria's already sodden image into the mud. What the hell was he thinking? As we have our already dirty image, I think that this by far is the worst. Just think about people applying for visas. An idle mind they say, is the devils workshop. This boy was born with a silver spoon. He had the very best in almost everything. He attended good schools, lived in a very expensive apartment etc. What else could he possibly have wanted his family was not willing to give? I'm sure he had nothing to do, as a result of which he started 'thinking' about these radical ideas. I bet if he was struggling to make ends meet, he won't have time to think and accept the crap.
On the other hand, I believe this dude's got a serious mental problem. Its sad because he's still young and has a very long life ahead of him. As it is, without God's intervention, his life is ruined already. He faces up to 20 years imprisonment. I can't even start to imagine what his family must feel right now.
The very painful thing is that people from other nationalities will start seeing Nigerians as terrorists which is so not the case. Anyway, I don't really want to say more on this matter so I don't start involving religion and all, I'll only repeat that 'Nigerians are NOT terrorists. I'll talk more on Nigeria and its present state later. Remember, 'Nigerians are NOT terrorists'.
P.S. I actually feel bad for the boy. I don't know what to say, but may God forgive him. I really pity him, I don't know why. Thank God his plan didn't succeed, he'lld have just died like that.
Food for thought: The devil had been planning this for him before he knew it himself. Hmm, bad devil :((

Astrological signs???
Just as I was editing my profile now, I was asked for my astrological sign. I ticked the box to signify I wasn't interested. That got me thinking about this whole thing again, so I googled it to get some information on it. After reading, I concluded that its just a whole load of crap. I was born in January, so if I believe in this whole zodiac thing, my sign would be Aquarius, meaning 'the water carrier'. My element would be 'air' and my quality 'fixed'. I don't even wanna dwell much on it, its all a lie from the pit of hell. My destiny is not dependent on what month I was born, what the sky looked like on that day or what star was shining. Afterall, all the stars were created by God. So I think finding out your horoscopes and all that is just a load of nonsense. If you wanna know more about yourself or what the future holds, read your bible, its just a mirror. Zodiac signs? No, thank you!
My very first Blog
Hurray!!! I've finally joined the trend. I've entered the addictive world of blogging. Really, I should have done this earlier when it was 'reigning', but as always, boredom was the catalyst that drove me here. Anyway, here I am. Feel free to enjoy my thoughts and observations. In the course of blogging, you may not necessarily agree with my opinions, i mean absolutely no disrespect. Feel free to comment (not insult)...lol...(actually i'm not laughing)...(okay, now I am) I guess what i'm trying to say is that you should try and enjoy it. God bless you!!!
